Certis and Towergate insure them buy it may depend on the type of thatch the property has.0

You probably need to speak to an independent broker (obligatory "not Swinton" reference inserted here), I had it do this a few years back when mainstream insurers suddeny stopped covering the non-standard roofing that I had at that time (cedar shingles).0

Thanks - thinks its reed, rethatched around 11 years ago, in good condition.0

Thanks very much - I'm just doing Lloyd & White at the moment and they've said yes to thatch terrace so that's a start. Lost my voice so this is fun, didn't realise it would be so difficult, just expensive.0

Looks like Lloyd and Whyte will cover buildings and contents for 639 with 300 excess, getting confirmed tomorrow am which is a huge relief and seems quite reasonable. They said they didn't cover terraces a few years ago after a series of fires but now do. Only 3 in the terrace. Husband asked the others and they are both NFU but from years back.0
