Timeshare class action
Strasser
I am being contacted by companies concerning a class action type legal challenge in Spain regarding timeshare contracts in perpetuity etc. I am unsure how to proceed. If the case is successful in my absence would I benefit anyway. I have been asked to visit Spain and join the action, not sure what to do. Would Martin take up this topic?

Beware of any contact that you have not initiated, first of all is your Timeshare in Spain or the Canaries? is the contract in perpetuity, when did you buy the Timeshare? Do you just want to get rid of your Timeshare? if you just want to get rid of it then just contact the Developer and offer it back to them. If they say no and try to sign you up to an exit plan of say 3 years of maintenance decline and then stop paying maintenance. The Timeshare Companies are losing millions because of awards by the Spanish Supreme Courts but if you want to go down this route choose wisely as there are lot's of 'relinquishment' outfits that take your cash and do nothing.
Good luck whatever you do.0 -
Never go to meet these people, let alone travel to Spain to do so. If you do, you have committed so much time and money already, the plans they propose and remember you will be dealing with timeshare salesmen, whatever they call themselves, will seem sensible and you will be committed to even more money. Avoid like the plague0

Why do you need to go there? It'll likely be a scam where they want you to pay up front for something, or sell you more timeshare/points etc. Unfortuantely you're probably on a "suckers list", people who they think are susceptible to a hard sell.0
