just got rejected by HSBC for student credit card, need some ideas on how to improve my scores
i am not sure if it is the case that i've done too many credit checks in recent months, i hv done 7 checks in mobile shops and banks.
1) is that the bank will automatically decline ppl who have done a certain number of credit checks in past few months?
2) for how many months will they trace my credit check records up to? 1 year? 6 months?
3) can i boost the score by increasing the number of transactions and the amount of money in my current HSBC a/c
4) i have recently switched my direct debit from the HSBC current a/c to a Lloyds one, will this affect my score?
5) the staff told me the only thing i can do is to wait for a couple of months. does anybody know if there is a appeal dept in HSBC?
cheers
