Barclays account still linked to me after 8 years!

Hi everyone,
I need some advice from those wiser than me.
This weekend I happened to look at my credit file with CallCredit. It's been as long as I can remember since I looked at it (daft, I know) and thought it would be worth it to see what I could improve etc.
When I did look I noticed I still had an open and active Barclays current account attached to my file. The only time I have ever had a current account at Barclay's was when I shared a house with an ex-partner. We split in 2010 and, after much drama, we went into our local Barclays branch together to remove me from the from the account and run in only in her name. I remember we spent about half an hour in the branch, I had to sign some things and then we left and I thought no more of it.
This account is still linked to the address I lived with my ex-partner at. Not only that I could of course see all the time she had used the overdrafton the account in the last 6 years and I had no knowledge of it! I'm very grateful it appears the account has been managed properly and there are no negative marks on it.
I contacted the Barclays Twitter social media team, who I have to say were great. They called me and confirmed that I am still linked to the current account and to be removed I would have to go into a branch with my ex
This relationship wasn't great and both she and I have long since moved on so to try and reach her to get her to meet me at a bank would be awkward to say the least. At worth she might just tell me where to go, go and go on a spending spree in revenge, go over the agreed limit and never close the account, affecting my credit history!
The social media team have made me an appointment at a Barclays branch on Tuesday this week to see if anything can be done without contacting her but I wanted some advice first.
I'm really angry about this, I can't believe that an account can remain with attached to me after it was agreed by both parties that I was not to be on it anymore so long ago and the possible impact it could have had and me never know about it (I've never received any letters, calls or texts about this account since)
Am I right to be angry? What action should Barclays be taking? Do I really need to contact someone who doesn't like me and ask her to come to the bank with me to sort out our old account?
Advice much appreciated

Barclays should remove the account from your files, if they agree you were taken off it more than 6 years ago.

Do you think it's worth logging a complaint about it? The repercussions for my finances had the potential to be very serious0

If you want. But you don't generally get compensation for things that may have happened but didn't.
I prefer to just get things fixed and move on.0 -
Fair enough. Thank you0
