notebook dvd tray stuck

I think I loaded a DVD badly in my Gateway notebook and now I can't open the tray at all. I've tried using a paperclip but to no effect.
Is there anything else I can do?
Thanks.

You could remove the DVD drive from the laptop and try again.

Sounds like the disk has jumped out of it's guide.

They are not too difficult to dismantle once you have the drive on a desk assuming you are okay with a small screwdriver.

Once the outer cover is off, you will more than likely be able to pop the disk back into the drawer properly and use the paperclip again.

The paperclip method does take a bit of manipulation though. you may have to give it a fair wiggle (you can feel the drawer trying to open when you get it right).
