Limestone pebbledash

Limestone spar is quite a bit cheaper than other types of spar.

Is there anything wrong with it?
Any reason why I shouldn't use it for my house?

(my house is already pebbledashed, don't bother saying how awful it is, I know!)

Depends on the type of limestone. One cannot be generic here. Carboniferous would be ok, Oolitic very dodgy.

Well, unfortunately, it doesn't say which geological period the limestone comes from

Limestone spa should be ok, the devil is simply in the detail. It has to be suitable, accreditted and from the right quarry. Here OP has to do their homework. There is limestone for sale at B&Q that is purely "decorative" and is useless when rain and frost gets to it. There is limestone pea gravel available for pipe beding - this works well but it is no good with rain because of algae staining. Which means using the wrong limestone for pebbledash will give a disastrous job.

Well I'm talking about Limestone Spa being sold as Pebbledash spa by aggregate suppliers.
