Next time the debt busting starts to get you down a bit, don't forget you're achieving at least 3 things at once now - living within your means, getting ahead with your bills AND reducing debt. Its no mean feat to do it all at once :)

Thanks warby68. None of this is for the faint-hearted, feel a bit like I'm building super powers in debt busting. Every single day I make it work is a massive achievement.

From memory when you change energy provider it takes about 3 weeks to go through I think - it's not immediate as they have to communicate to swap things over. You won't have to cancel your account with Scottish Power your new supplier will do it for you. As for payments. The cheaper tarrifs from the smaller company expect you to pay in advance so yes you'd pay twice in one month but if you go with a bigger company you pay in arrears so you wouldn't pay two bills in one month. When you leave Scottish Power and you give your readings to your new company if you owe any money or are owed any money you receive a bill anything up to 6 weeks later asking for payment or stating the return of payment. You don't have to pay it immediately you can do a payment plan just to confident enough to ask for it.
I would do the switch. Get onto a cheaper tarriff asap as then you're paying less for the energy you use sooner and owe less to your stupid current provider. Plus it's one less thing on the ever expanding to do list. Xxxx

Just checked the accounts and noticed I forgot to include the Lloyds minimum payment in my total. Also paid a few quid off a couple of others to bring the totals to a nice even amount. Then made a signature to show off my progress so far. So here it is...ta da!
