Hello,
My Renault back car window went down today and now won't come back up. It never used to work then after the MOT it started working again but now it won't go back up. Any ideas please before I go to the garage?

Is it a manual one?
Took mine to auto glass (other repairers are available), smiled nicely, and because it was a very simple quick repair they did it there and then for nothing. Some clip
that needed replacing, or something. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
No it's electric. It's very annoying.0

Try again when it is cooler.
The passenger one on my suzuki wont work when it is hot, I think there is some sort of overload cut-out in the motor that activates in very hot weather.
Try opening the door and wiggling the wires that go into the door from the body.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

likely dodgy switch or electrical connection.
low tech. fiddle with the switch, give the interior door panel some thumps while someone holds the switch on.0 -
Guessing it’s a mk2 Megane.
Very common issue.
It’s the Temic unit. Sometimes disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes can reset it. Make sure you have the radio code, normally in the service book0 -
As above the control module (temic) unit fail due to water ingress. Renault will not supplier them separate from the motor despite it being a separate part.
Sometimes removing it and spraying in a water dispersal spray then letting that dry gets them working for a while. Only held onto the motor by 1 screw if I remember correctly but the door card and impact protection needs to come off for access.0 -

This (or similar) would probably my first stab at repairing it assuming loose wires etc had been discounted.0
