I have a 2014 model Panasonic TV . It no longer gets updates should I be downloading something from the internet to keep it updated or just leave it as it is?

That depends upon the model and if Panasonic have updated it .
3/ 4 years down the line probably no updates .

The only something you can download is via Panasonic support site .

Just leave it as is. A TV that old won't be getting any updates.

You can obtain a standalone box and plug it in via HDMI if you find there is function that you need that the TV doesn't have.
Freeview HD, Smart TV Boxes, Recorders.
