Frustrated - Signed up for the "Credit Club" , after sifting through the usual apps, e.g; "Clear Score", I am trying to improve my credit rating after an ex partner financially abusing me and applying for a number of things in my name. I have worked to pay any debt off, and this is reflected on my credit file, there are no outstanding accounts, however I am having difficulty applying for credit cards to be able to begin boosting my credit rating again. My report reads as "poor" so I am at a loss as to what I can do, I am applying for things suggested to me and still getting declined/ having difficulty. Any advice would be brilliant.

What does your report show, any missed / late payments, defaults etc over the past 6 years ?0

Martin's out the back having a smoke at the moment, but we can help.
The good news is that your credit rating is entirely a work of fiction. It's not based on your credit worthiness and not seen or used by anyone. So you can safely ignore that.
What do your three files show? You need to check the data on Noddle, Clearscore and MSE Credit Club (for Experian).
If you have a thin or poor file, you will need to look at the subprime cards. But first, see what negatives appear on your files.0
