Perfect Fit Blinds - is this too much light leakage?

Options
I had perfect fit blinds installed this week by a very well regarded blind company in Edinburgh. While I love the design, I am a little surprised in the amount of light creeping in - these pics were taken at 09:25.this morning on what is to be fair a very sunny day.

Anyone else got experience of these blinds and whether this should be considered normal?

I would be interested in seeing other examples if anyone has the same blinds

Thanks! .

It looks lovely and dark to me!!

Unless you have a blind where the edges run through something fixed to the walk you are going to get some light through.

It's also exceptionally sunny !!!55357;!!!56846; at the moment!!

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Did you measure for the blinds yourself or did the company measure?
I ask because the only solution I could see was perhaps the blinds should have been a bit wider so there was less light seepage.
This might not be possible as they might not run freely but there is little seepage on top and bottom of blind.

So long as you’re not trying to use the room for old style photo development, the blinds look fine. I once tried blackout curtains but they were too dark for a naturally light start to the morning, complete blackout isnt to my taste.

Thanks - the company came out and measured but I take the point that any wider and they probably wouldn't have been able to run freely. To be fair, excellent service from start to finish and to be honest I didn't specifically request blackout blinds so my expectations were perhaps too high based on what I've read on this thread and elsewhere over the past couple of hours!

I've just got some perfect fit 'thermal blackout' honeycomb pleated blinds on my patio doors that show a similar amount of light spill around the edges. To be expected in all honesty, the white painted frames reflect light that hits them.

The roller blinds you have would annoy me because of the uneven tension/creasing showing though ;)
