savings account for 16-18 year olds

I am having trouble trying to find an easy access savings account with a good interest rate for my daughter who is 16. I can only find accounts for children under 16 or over 18.

Have a look at HSBC and Nationwide

Your daughter should still qualify for the 'under 18' accounts at these two institutions (which tend to give higher interest rates than adult accounts)

HSBC pays slightly less interest but comes with a debit card while the Nationwide Smart account only comes with a cashcard.

Alternatively at 16+, one can also open Cash ISA's
