Online purchase possible phishing

I was shopping online for a few bits and pieces and, every transaction went through with no issues, as they do every time. However, one transaction in particular appeared fine on my credit card statement, but I received an email from the company I was purchasing from requesting confirmation of my full name, date of birth, billing address linked to my credit card, delivery address and any previous addresses linked to my credit card within the past 12 months. Now, my name, billing and delivery address was already provided at checkout, but they said they needed to confirm the other details as there was a discrepancy. My card issuer said there were no issues with the transaction at their end. Is this quite normal or is there something a bit dodgy going on? tia
