HP M417 photosmart.Should I buy a new camera

Hi everyone.
I'd really appreciate any advice anyone has to offer....
Last year I bought a HP M417 photosmart digital camera with printer. I was seduced by the half price ticket (it was 124.99 reduced from 249.99) and convinced myself i was getting a real bargain.
In actual fact its a bit crap, the camera takes ages to switch on, ages to take a photo and then if you try and take a couple of photos it says 'processing' - the result of which is the photo opportunity is gone.
Also it eats batteries. The rechargable ones that it comes with (you charge it on the printer) is really crap - after about ten photos it says batteries low. Even with super expensive duarcell I only get about 20-30 photos (thats not looking at them, simply taking the photos and switching the camera off). I bought the duarcells with the powercheck thing and the batteries are still at more than 50% capacity despite the camera saying batteries low.
So my question is, is this a particularly crap camera or are they all like this? The HP M417 doesn't get particularly bad reviews so I am worried I fork out another 100quid or so for an equally bad camera.
Thanks in advance,
Lynne

I have the M407 and I am very pleased with it as I got it with the Hp printer for £100 from Argos,it Switches on ok and 2700ma rechargable batteries give me about 200 shots. If I was going to buy another camera I would get the Fuji 5700 DSLR.I think you can get it for about £100 and gets very good reviews for the price of the camera.0
