Rotten roof noggins , Help

Dear all,
of course I cannot do the repairs, but any help & advice most appreciated, I have no idea where to start, have been bitten by too many cowboys.

What is a "roof noggin" ?

Sorry have no idea a neighbor told mt that he could see rotten noggins or noggings through the big gap that has appeared, .

I know what a noggin is, but would not expect to see one in a roof where it could get wet. I suspect you are referring to a purling.

So you have seen the rotten noggin yourself? How extensive is the rot?

Thank you very much for the link explaining the terminology. in my case it is. noggins at the top but lower down where the inner ceiling meet joist. There is a curvy facia which has dropped down and seems that rotten joist, noggins could not hold the weight of plaster/ cement.I think there has been a leak which was not fixed properly.
