Just to clear up what I meant, I meant I didn!!!8217;t mentioned leaving at all. I just said if they really wanted to reduce my hours, because it doesn!!!8217;t benefit my financial situation, I!!!8217;d rather quit0

If you had quit you would definitely have been sanctioned.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

Do they take into account WHY people were sacked? I mean, it's one thing if you, I dunno, were working in a shop and attacked a customer or something but if you were working in a shop and the owner had to let you go cos they could not afford to pay you anymore then it seems very harsh to apply a sanction before you can claim JSA?
Of course they do, that's why you have a work faced interview to ascertain the facts, if customer explains reason you can get them to fill out an ES84 or if in doubt you can send an ES85 to the employer to obtain the reason.
Then a DM decides if any action is required.0
