Hi,
I need help getting rid of two debt collection agencies hired by UKPC for two parking tickets.
I have tired to follow the Newbies thread in the forum however im now stuck.
I sent them the initial appeal and they returned with the POPLA reference nunmber, i couldn't really work what to do next and now they sent debt agencies.
Obviously, the agencies are demanding £160, which is incredibly ridiculous. I hate debt collection people and dont want failed bouncers at my door looking very self righteous asking me for cash.
Can someone tell me what to do please. The wife is worried the thugs will come round.
Many thanks
Ozzy

So you did not appeal to POPLA then ??
NO THUGS WILL COME ROUND, you just ignore all

Next time come here first and do the template appeal on day 26 as registered keeper, not driver, then win at POPLA.
Come back if UKPC start a small claim, where (on this forum) these cases are almost always won.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

About the only thing you can do is complain to your MP.
This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.
Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct
Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.
The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Many thanks everyone for the quick response!!
Really did make me feel a lot better. Will do the research and will let you know how i get along. Honestly its not the money, though it is a lot. I rather give up the cash to a charity or something then give it to these guys.
Many thanks0 -

Hi fellow forum goers!
Apology in advanced as this is my first attempt on here.
I have the same issue. I parked for 3mins in a industrial location whilst dropping my kids to school to find no ticket on the car.
I then received a letter from PCS stating that I have been fined. By the way no clear signs were visible and to date I have been if doing the letters.
I then started receiving letters from DRP, which I also started to ignore and today received a letter from zenith collections. Who have kindly offered me a discount of £30 to pay £130 instead of £160.
They are stating they will pursue it to a legal conclusion if necessary.
What do I do? Stand my ground ?
Thanking you all in advance

I meant to say I am to date ignoring the letters.0

You need to start your own thread rather than hijacking this one. It can get really confusing answering two people in one thread. Before you start a thread read the thread that tells Newbies to read it first.
It's at the top of this section.0
