Second hand from eBay.
I bought the most beautiful Mereway kitchen, ex-photoshoot for £500. Best quality kitchen I've ever bought that wasn't bespoke. Each cabinet was worth more, with integrated lighting that came on with opening the doors, beautiful glass shelving etc.
Our buyers put in a Wickes kitchen and offered it back to us. I was delighted, until their kitchen fitters must have told them it was worth some decent money.
Clearly that isn't always available but some clever searching can really reap rewards.
Otherwise, actually, Ikea. Can't beat them even with trade discounts.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

My kitchen came in around £1200-1500 - 2.4m x 3.5m - And that included induction hob, oven, extractor, and flooring along with a bunch of other work (plastering, wiring, etc). But I did all the work, so avoided any labour costs which would have added to the bill. Her courage will change the world.

Units are B&Q (Cooke & Lewis), 900mm pan drawers from Bolton Trade Kitchens (because B&Q don't do that size). Drawer & door fronts from Homestyle Ltd (vinyl wrap which some people decry). Worktops from Solid Surface Kitchens Direct. Tap, sink, hob, extractor, and oven were all obtained locally when spotted on sale.
Soft close door hinges were obtained from my local B&Q store, and after a bit of berating, got them at the same price as the bog standard cheap hinges - Had been in twice, couldn't find standard hinges, yet their computer said over 800 in stock. they finally agreed to reduce the soft close price to save me a looong journey
Flooring was from Factory Direct Flooring - Not cheap, but I wanted a decent floor that is easy to lift if/when required. Less than a month after laying, I had to take half of it up to gain access to a manhole in the middle of the floor.
Lime plaster, soaps, and waxes came from specialist suppliers, and the pigments from a local artist shop.
If I was doing it again, I'd still go for the B&Q units, but now that I have a tradepoint card, can save a few more pounds... A lot of messing around to get stuff at a good price, and it did take some time to bring everything together. Not for everyone, but I had the time, space, and didn't have to worry about anyone else.
That said, if I had to do it again within a tight deadline, getting units, door/drawers, and worktops from a single supplier may well be prudent. Wouldn't go to B&Q, Magnet, Wickes, Howdens though. Her courage will change the world.

I suggest you price up a kitchen online at DIY-Kitchens using one of their cheaper door ranges but you wont compromise on the unit quality. Also because the units are coloured to match the doors you wont need end run end panels and their pelmets, plinths and cornices are a good price. Use the widest units that are suitable and you will need less of them and doors and keep the price down.0
