Networking question - new build

I'm hoping someone will able to advise on this network issue.

I am buying a new build and they fit a telephone line to the living room, looking at the plans there is one cable to the living space and one to the hall. They have advised its CAT 6 so think it will have a Ethernet port and a telephone socket on the faceplate.

What I want to do which doesn't appear Taylor Wimpey (TW) can, is have an ethernet port downstairs where I can feed a connection from my router into and then this ethernet port downstairs feeds into my study to get internet upstairs.

Question I have is if TW fits an extra telephone line into my study using CAT 6 (hopefully - will be asking and finding how many pairs the cable is i.e. 3 or 4 pair) as a slave from the master, whether I can split this after. So in the living fit a 2 port ethernet plate and the 2nd port can feed the internet upstairs. I will then change the face plate in the study to a single ethernet port. (the telephone line would be a waste I guess but it will give me my internet)

The reason for the above is currently the build will have a BT connection but thinking if I wanted to put Virgin Media in the future I want to get the internet upstairs with this method with Virgin Media feeding the living room and then I can feed the study from downstairs using this port I changed (note will have a hub/router upstairs to feed my other devices). I want as much cabling hidden now hence was wondering if this made sense.

You're the customer, tell them what you want doing. Alternatively its not that complicated to get a company that does network installs to run a cable through the wall after you've bought the house. Personally that's what I'd do and get them to run additional cabling to put a decent wireless access point such as an Ubiquity one on the 1st floor ceiling.

every device needs its own separate cable.

These cables are not daisy chained but come from a switch

The one in the hallway will probably be there for you BT/ISP. The other I wold guess goes from the hallway to the TV or study/office

A telephone line is not normally cat5 or any cat cable

You cant split cat cables. Although they are twisted pairs, they must remain so.

you can conver a network socket to a phone port with the use of a special plug/socket think. To mr these look horrible, but great for offices

Put double port cat cables and sockets in each room. Think about the tv: 1 nic for the tv, 1 for the video box, 1 for the games console and 1 for the computer???

the camera below uses the switch built into the router. but does not have to. This router switch connects to a second switch

Thanks both, I have tried asking Taylor Wimpey (TW) to add the networking but as its not in the brochure I cannot add it as an option. They were going to charge £2500 for one of these home hubs: https://www.homehubinstallations.co.uk/ this would get a network port in each room and have a similar topology to the diagram above, but for what I want it for its a bit excessive. Also the sales team was a bit poor, wouldn't get back to me in regards to a demo, so didn't want to run the risk with bad after sales.

I think I will get quotes after and see what it will cost, I did want to get a Ubiquity access point, but as TW already find a single ethernet into one room difficult, getting them to do anything extra in the networking side of things is going to prove impossible.

@that - Thanks didn't realise the phone cable isn't daisy chained, so that option goes.
