CPS advice needed!

Good afternoon!!

After some advice off you kind folk....

Having read the Newbies thread and trawled the Internet, I can’t find a case similar to mine, however go easy if it has been covered!!

My girlfriend parked at a CPS monitored car park (no ANPR cameras that I’m aware of) at the Cains Brewery Village in Liverpool on the 11th of June to distribute some leaflets for her work. There’s a selection of bars and restaurants here to drop them into.

She was only parked for 10 minutes and received a parking charge. The problem is, none of the writing on the ticket is visible at all (not allowed to post photo link yet as I’m still a newbie!).... the issue number/reg/date, etc are all not legible at all.
Following that we’ve been on holiday so said we’d sort it when back home.

I’ve tried to contact the land owner to no avail but have contacted one of the main venues on the complex who said they would forward it on but advised me to appeal.

The problem is, we can’t possibly appeal as we hit a dead end at the first hurdle, as the issue number is not visible/legible.

Any advice on next steps? Is the ticket invalid (I assume so).

I’m aware I’m outside of the appeal so time period.... but I don’t give a shining s****e! If they can’t follow their own process, then they have no chance of me following it!!

Kind regards,

CN

  • Frankly I'd forget all about it. The burden of proof is on them, and if by virtue of their incompetence you've been denied your right to appeal they haven't a leg to stand on. If they come back to you say you 'll see them in court and watch as they disappear

Here are the odds of court http://www.parkingappeals.info/companydata/UKCPS.html

Read the thread at the top of this board that tells Newbies to read it first. Take note of the advice regarding IPC companies.

I would do one to UKCPS just to set your position out. Use the template and add your situation to it.

If it ever comes to court (unlikely but possible) it always looks better having tried to resolve the situation before court.

That's the standard advice in the NEWBIES FAQs thread, so do re-read it if needed.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
