Making a start of rebuilding my credit rating!

After being discharged from bankruptcy and having (almost) completely cleared up my credit file, I today received my Vanquis credit card in the post.

This is the first step I am taking to rebuild my credit file, in hope that in 5 years time I will be able to get a mortgage at a reasonably low interest :).

My limit is £250, I am wondering, would it make any difference credit wise if I spend say £100 each month on this card and ring up a few days later to pay it off, instead of waiting for my direct debit to pay in full?

I also have a mobile phone contract with EE for £20pm which I hope is slowly making a difference. Thanks.
