Booked hilton, they've sold the hotel

I booked to stay at the hilton blackpool north, only to discover via being unable to find my reservation from the email they sent me and a quick look on Google maps that the hotel is no longer trading. Called the hotel directly and discovered that it is now being run by brittania and thankfully they have our reservation still as we are due to arrive in a few days. But rooms are being sold considerably cheaper than I pre payed. Not a peep about this from hilton and i can't ammend my hilton booking as it no longer exists on their system. I'm livid. Should I be able to get my money back,or any compensation
from Hilton as I've not been on the holiday yet?

They will have transferred all their business and your deposit to the new owners - although they should have told you that, effectively it is the same property it always was. You could always try contacting the new owners if you want your money back, and they might be understanding of that but there isnt a compensation issue here that I can see. Or contact Hilton and ask them if you can transfer to another location if that is preferable
