I've been Money Tipped!
Can anybody help.

My freeview box flagged a message saying new channels found and to update.

I did this 2 days ago but I have lost ITV1 ITV2 and channel 19.

I have tried rescanning several times over the last couple of days and I cannot get them back.....

Any thoughts apreciated

*** Note from Board Guide: I'm moving your post over to the Techie Board where I think it's better suited and hopefully one of the clever peeps over there will be able to help. :) ***

I had the exact same problem with my Goodmans GDB3. Last month an update gave me low signal strength on half my channels - and lost the other half

Luckily I knew where to get an old version of the software (http://gdb.freddys-utilities.co.uk/)

If your tv is a Goodmans or Bush (similar boxes with different branding) then it might be the same problem. The digitalspy thread about Goodmans problems is here (5900+ posts!!) though I'm not sure what you can do for other brands - I don't know if Goodmans software can be used with Bush
  • I have the same problem with my Phillips box. Everytime the little 'i' appears in the corner it automatically updates with new channels and deletes some of the existing ones. I have to reset to 'virgin mode' and start over and then I get all the channels together. Bit of a ball ache though!

My freeview box is a Sagem, I have tried to reset the lot as a brand new start up but still missing channels.

we had a problem like this and it turned out our aerial booster had been switched off at the socket. If you have an aerial booster that might be it.

We've got a Sony freeview box. It lost the free music channels ages ago and no matter how many times we tried to get them back it wouldn't work. Ran the updater function again last week to get the new free E4 etc and it found the missing channels again, including the pants shopping ones.

It could be down to the signal strength  , ours is hit and miss as it's being run on an internal aerial until the main one gets sorted. We've also noticed MOH's mums box doesn't display program information any more when it did at Xmas when she got it. Again she lives in the middle of a tiny village in a valley where reception is rubbish anyway.
:idea:I got an idea, an idea so smart my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about:idea:

I had this problem with my Phillips box. When it auto updated I had just the new channels it had installed. My young daughter sussed it out it had added them to my favourites when I hit the favourites button again I had all my other channels. Would have taken me forever to figure that out.
