I wouldn't, your bank manager can't do anything. I worked in a bank and I do feel sorry for branch staff as truly they have so little power - but they take all the brunt of customers. To us in head office, they were just sales and customer service staff, nothing more. Product knowledge wise we were never impressed with them either.

It is head office which has all the power and when I worked in head office (Santander, HSBC and RBS), I can tell you that branch staff would never have any influence on the security and fraud team. In fact, it would be a breach of security and fraud protocols if they had ANY influence at all!

Regional manager is on the case apparently. Our vendors are being lovely. Our solicitor and estate agents are being great too luckily.

But I just want to be in my house!!!

Don't want to make you feel down but, the regional manager is just another glorified sales person - they have no influence on security and fraud protocols - although they will say whatever they can to comfort you, lie if they have to :).

Hope it all sorts out soon for you and doesn't end up being too much of an inconvenience.

Of absolutely ZERO comfort to you whatsoever .... but ... it's a good job you tried to complete on a Monday and not a Friday! Imagine the anguish of going an entire weekend (possibly a bank holiday one) .... with this happening! NOBODY works weekends.... nobody around, nobody to contact, nobody to check, to look, to enquire, to care...

    Fingers still crossed for you!

But it's working it's way up! That's the branch's doing. Husband is also on the phone to someone hoping to get somewhere.

We did still have a bit of a rubbish weekend as it was Friday afternoon we realised there might be a problem. It was my 40th birthday party Friday night as well so that was slightly ruined :(

Best to stay positive, think of how much worse it could be. Some people have absolute nightmares where the whole thing just falls apart altogether. For such a big event such as moving to a new house (which you'll be staying for a long time I presume), a bit of delay and inconvenience isn't the worst outcome!
