Hi,
I went to Selfridges on Saturday to buy some makeup. I stopped at the Urban Decay stand where they demonstrated some foundation on me and I was pleased with the results so I let her know I will buy what she has shown me.
Today, I then apply the makeup that I had brought home and notice that it has a different consistency to when I had it demonstrated. I look at the bottle and she has given me the incorrect product.
Now my question is am I able to return/exchange for the product that is was meant to be, even though I have opened and used the foundation?
Thank you.

No it shows the incorrect product that I brought home with me.0

Did they give you a little chart showing the products used in the demo?
If yes and it shows the correct product take it with you and ask for the counter manager and explain.
Some counters have a notice telling customers to check products before they leave. But no harm in going back and speaking to the counter manager anyway.0 -
You're relying on thier goodwill.
They don't have to give you a refund under their T&Cs becasue, as you said, you've opened it.
You could try and argue they have to give you one under the general sale of goods legislation since it "wasn't as described" as she gave you the wrong one however proving that is probally impossible and you're far more likely to suceeded by going in and being polite & explaining the c0ck-up rather than demanding a refund under X piece of legislation0 -
I would just ring them up I am sure they'll sort it out. There's a massive mark up on these products0
