hioneday said:I use a hot water bottle in the winter and got to thinking about the amount of water I throw down the sink in the morning. I am on a meter so every little counts. I now have a kettle specifically for my hot water bottle, I boil the kettle in the evenings and in the morning refill the kettle from the hot water bottle. Just re-use the water over and over again.

I have four 210+ltr water butts, plus an old dustbin. Using the water butt water to fill watering cans is a lot more frugal with water than via a hose from a tap. Once, those are empty, I'll probably refill, when I clean the fish pond's water filter!I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0

I have 4X 1000ltr IBC water tanks, £25ea stacked 2 high together as a group of 4 plumbed up with a tap on one of them only. They fill up from the roof and from the bathroom hand basin and shower. I have a large garden, and they nearly ran out in 2018 but did run out in 2019. The only years they have just about let me down.
