Food Intolerance

It is difficult with an intolerance or sensitivity because the symptoms may be thought as normal or another cause and they can take several days to occur. However, an allergy the reaction is usually immediate and very obvious.
I have excluded all manner of stuff from my diet and I feel so much better.
Garlic went first.
Meat.. ALL meat
Sugar.. artificial sweetener I am ok with but any quantity of sugar makes me feel rubbish.
Crisps and chocolate.. the chocolate went as part of the sugar group. Hot chocolate drinks are ok as are the fibre one bars so I stick with those.
Bread I limit to a maximum of 2 slices a day.. but only have it once or twice a week.
Pasta limited to a tiny portion twice a day.
I live on salad, veg, fruit, rice, eggs and veggie sausages.
My tummy still has its hysterical days but usually I can pinpoint the cause immediately.. and normally I have a 12 hours reaction time. I have also lost 3 stone!
I've not had the tests.. unless a reaction is life threatening my dr won't do the tests which appears to be usual now. I did trial and error and have got my digestive issues almost under control. I wouldn't pay for any tests I just spent 6 months eliminating things and reintroducing them slowly.. it is annoying the dr could do all this with one test in about 5 minutes...

If it's bowel-related it might be worth noting down things like depression and upset (if this applies to you) as both of those things affect the bowel!Signature Removed by Forum Team ..thanks to somebody reporting a witty and decades-old Kenny Everett quote as 'offensive'!!0

I've suffered with stomach problems (IBS symptoms) for years, and although removing certain things from my diet helps a bit (like red meat), in the end it's all in my head...0 -
