Personal injury claim advice

I am submitting a personal injury claim following a car accident. The third parties car insurance has admitted fault and have also offered to assist with the personal injury claim- would you use them or would you use an external company? It seems odd to use the company you are claiming against or is there a benefit to doing that? Any advice would be great.

Also, the external company will take out insurance for us in case the claim isn’t successful, however I believe I have this insurance on my legal cover on my home insurance- if I use this, will it count as a claim against my insurance? We already have already enquired about a bathroom leak so I’m worried about my premiums for next year (didn’t actually claim but did give details so not sure if this counts?!)

I would definitely want someone seperate from the third party representing my interests. The 3rd party have a vested interest in keeping costs down.

or is there a benefit to doing that?
    A benefit to them.

however I believe I have this insurance on my legal cover on my home insurance
Home insurance legal cover usually exclude motor vehicle accidents.
Do you have legal cover on your car insurance? or seperately?

If not you could source your own "no win no fee" company yourself and look for independent recommendation.
  • Thank you, we don!!!8217;t have legal cover with our car insurance, just with Home insurance for some reason.

I appreciate the advice, my husband wanted to use the third party and I want to go externally with a no win no fee company.

A benefit to you of going directly to the insurer is that you won't have a % of your compensation deducted.
