Morning all,
Much cooler in Glasgow this morning than has been of late. Uncomfortable at times over the weekend.
But, I tried to make the most of it. I enjoyed a BBQ yesterday after lunch with some friends but it was our work night out on Friday, which cost more than I would have like. And I've got a wedding this month. What's acceptable as a gift, from a single guy, to his mate and future wife on their wedding? I bought them some vouchers for their engagement party last year so not sure what to do now.
Been to the gym this morning and I've got a game of football tonight too. Aside from that, not much planned.
BTDT - Whilst in the tidying/organising mood, I would recommend reading "the life-changing magic of tidying up" by Marie Kondo. There's a few threads on here about how it genuinely has changed lives - including mine!0 -
Morning
Slightly groggy me checking in
Gorgeous day again no doubt will have an hour or so trying to catch up with nanny and finishing my book.
Lovely girlie Sunday was had by all. I had posh fish chips and peas which was just gorgeous followed by rhubarb and ginger crumble. We indulged in a rose prosecco with strawberries and raspberries. After the meal we headed into the garden with !!!!!! star cocktails all round in the largest glasses I have ever seenhence the slightly groggy head today
We did however sort all the worlds problems out which is comforting :rotfl:
Work day today ...lots of prep needed for my first courses for a while next week. Washing all done bar one top (note to self next washing machine will be one of those samsung ones that you can throw something in when its started)
Food wise I had a delivery of fruit and veg yesterday (and wine to make up required amount) So thinking another salad ...I have had a yearning for salad nicoise so maybe that
TA hope your GP finds the right tablet this time

Morning all,
Another scorcher today - I was out with Ly1a at 7 as she woke us by barking at 2 cats fighting in the front garden just after 6.There is a clump of brown fur on the grass which definitely doesnt belong to next door but ones cat!
The fire fighters are still working so hard on our moors :TWe passed several crews yesterday on the way to our friends ,having a pit stop at the side of the road, and the helicopters are passing over constantly getting water from the reservoirs.Several roads nearby are now shut as cars kept driving over the hoses leading from the reservoirs. The smoke hasnt been too bad on our side of Winter Hill, the wind has been blowing it in the other direction apart fom Friday.Apparently the police helicopter caught some people lighting another fire on our side, you really can't believe the mentality of some people
We had a walk to the park yesterday with DS & DGD,there was a classic car show on which kept DH happy, followed by ice cream in the cafe.
Right I'm off to put more washing in
Hugs to dumpling ,the TAs and anyone else in need of one xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Morning, ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Up and out early OH needed a blood test, the waiting room was full, thankfully all for either the Dr or nurse, not Dracula....sorry the phlebotomist, so soon done.
I am still feeling a bit peely wally.....I had a lightbulb moment last night, I had been taking Ibrufen, I do not think my stomach likes it, did not take any last night will see how I go over the next couple of days.
Bed stripped, washer on its last spin so it will be on the line shortly. I have stopped asking OH to help me put on the duvet cover, its just not worth the aggro, he hates doing it, and makes sure I know. I tried doing it the rolling down way, but found that a pain, so I do it the usual way but make sure the underside of the quilt is pulled well down as I put it on.
OH is in the garden, its coolish just now but I guess we are in for another scorcher, all the front curtains are drawn.
Chicken and salad tonight for supper......we had raspberries and ice cream last night, suspect we may be having the same tonight.0 -
I had a lovely afternoon yesterday as older dd and SIL picked me up to drive to her twin sister and take her out.
We managed to find the only car parking space near the river and went for a walk to look at the ducks, the river cruise boats and the fancy motor boats. We even found a table and chairs by the river so we could enjoy the view and have a soft drink.
Needed to set my alarm as dd came round about eight to leave her cat with me as she has a scan later this morning and will then come and spend the afternoon with me which I am really looking forward to. Very hot here so have drawn the blinds in the living room to keep it a bit cooler. Planning an egg salad for lunch for the two of us and not sure what I fancy for breakfast, maybe fruit and yoghurt or an omelette.
Hoping for an approved food delivery today with lots of diet drinks, baked beans, pasta and a few treats while saving over 50%. Sainsbobs are delivering on Tuesday morning and I found some rose lemonade as a treat for dd as she is heavily pregnant and likes to have a soft drink that does not feel too childish.
Not sure whether to go and post a parcel and nip to the local shop fairly soon to avoid the heat but probably a good idea.
Holly
I read that there have been some studies on arthritis and inflammation and that a teaspoon of bicarb of soda dissolved in a pint glass of water twice a day was supposed to help after a few weeks. I have been doing this for three weeks and my knees no longer seem to be painful.
Hugs to dumpling ,TAs and a wave to tru.0 -

What you say is true & I couldn't agree with you more :heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Afternoon all, more blue skies today :j.
We had the expected rain yesterday, yeah all 3 drops of it.
I decided to pick my blackcurrants as the bush seems to have exploded whilst we were away. Dad wanted to help, but put his foot in one of the containers and spread most of the ones he had picked, all over the floor , So only 2 1/2 lb made it to the kitchen, but there are more to ripen. This afternoon I shall sort them out and freeze them, till I'm ready to make something with them.
We went to Al*is this morning for some f and v, milk and ice cream. They had no cucumbers , what is the world coming to ? :rotfl:. I was glad to get home as I felt annoyed with some people hogging the freezers etc. I had to send in the muscle at one point....... well Mr Fix It, they soon shifted. When we came home Joan was sitting on a chair with her front door open so I gave her an ice lolly to cool her down
.
Not much doing this afternoon after the blackcurrant job, just sorting out the ironing from the non ironing and some kind soul left a charity bag yesterday, so I have a few items ready to go and I'm sure I can find a few more if I try hard enough !
Tea tonight will be a burger in a bun and salad ( minus the cucumber) and then I will go with Dad to the Doctors....... not looking forward to that, but we will see what occurs, wish me luck !
Nelski I think I will have to take you in hand my girl, you are fast becoming a prosecco princess and don't tell me it's for medicinal purposes only :rotfl::rotfl:. BTW you didn't sort out the lack of cues in Al*dis when you put the world to right, so you will have to try harder next time
Csarina you might need a trip to the Dr's with your tummy problems. I kept a food diary then went when I realised that I had a recurring problem.
TA I am sorry to read that Mr TA is still having problems with his digestion, I shall send you both extra hugs.
Speky we will need more info about your mates wedding, eg do they own/rent a house or are they starting from scratch ?
Floss Thanks, love it " caravan lag " I must remember that :rotfl:.
Tru nice to hear from you.
Judi if you have finished your garden, are you free to help in mine, please ?
Holly I hope your hospital appointment goes well. Take care lovely, I'm with you on the housework front, most of it can wait till it's cooler......... like October :rotfl:.
Hope everyone has a good Monday, hugs to all.

you can do the hard bits and i'll do the piddly little bits you miss like i do here.:D Im pretty good at hunting stray house bricks, breeze blocks, planks of wood that get stuffed in strange places and i'm expert with the secateurs and chucking stuff out of the sheds (when i can creep in unnoticed).
Diva has gone home with her Daddy. They came back from their break in the early hours and Livewire has gone to school as normal.
Animal charity came and picked up some pieces of furniture i wanted to donate this afternoon.
Prodigal has been and gone. He looks well, says he is well and he has left me with his new phone number.
Get tea over and done with and i can begin to wind down.:TThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
