HTTPS on blog forum?

Options
Novice here so excuse my ignorance.

I have a blogger blog in which I have embedded a Nabble forum.

However they are recently saying this:
From now on Nabble users can switch from HTTP to HTTPS protocol.
1) Users should have their own domain to apply the changes.
2) Users should buy their own certificate so that we can install it on our servers.

Is this something I need to do and if so how? There are so many firms offering check certificates and I don't know which I can trust.

    Exactly the same here:
    http://support.nabble.com/HTTPS-Protocol-td7600829.html

Mind you elsewhere on the support forum Nabble was supposed to be being discontinued but anyway.

I would say if this on a shared blog hosting site (ie blogspot.com or somehere like that) this is probably nothing to worry about, primarily because the message is unclear or gobbledygook.

Yes that's where I saw the message. I also read about Nabble changing to another site - but nothing more concrete and no timescale.
