Account removal from Credit File

I have viewed my account and there is a record on there that isn't mine.
It is a similar name a different DOB and address. I have contacted the company (JD Williams) and they have said it is mine and i need to pay the bill. Im refusing to pay as its nothing to do with me but the account is about to go into default and this will show on my credit record.
I have contacted the credit reference agency for advice but they just tell me to talk to the company so i feel like im stuck in a vicious circle.
Does anyone have any advice?

Written complaint to JD Williams, outline the facts, its not your account.
