Credit History Disappeared - Can't Verify Identity

Hi

Posting on behalf on my partner here.

It would appear that her credit history has completely up and vanished. We live together and so share rent but but when she accessed her online banking to transfer her half of the rent money, her RBS account had been shut down. We went to the bank and queried this and they couldn't explain why it had been closed. Fastforward a few weeks, every time she tries to open an account with another bank, she is either outright rejected or the account is opened and closed by the bank the next day with no reason given.

When she tries to log in to her ClearScore account it simply said she doesn't have enough history to generate a credit score, or that they cannot confirm her identity - even though they could before! It's as if she has disappeared off the face of the Earth!

Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone have any insight as to why this might have happened? Affecting us hugely now as we had to apply for a mortgage solely under my name, which we were rejected for because we couldn't afford it (even though her wages go into my account now, they can't take her income into account).

Anyone got any ideas?

Cheers!

She must have received some post to say the account was being closed, was there any money in the account ?

Don't be fixated on the score since no1 but her can see it. She needs to check with mse credit club and Noddle, i take it she is on the electoral roll where you live.

If accounts are being closed as soon as they are opened I would suspect a CIFAS marker against her- and not one of the good ones (as in victim of fraud).

I don't think an already up and running long standing account wouldn't just be closed if there was suddenly missing CRA data.
