I sent my mobile phone Vodaphone Smart ultra 6 off to them in full working order for them to purchase off me. They said on their site it was worth around £40.00. Nearly two weeks later they returned my phone and said it was dead and would not charge. They have obviously damaged it while trying to test but they are obviously not admitting to this. What can I do as they have broken my phone and will not admit it's their fault or give me any compensation. They are a scam. Jue150

  • Or you tried to scam them with a dead smartphone. You obviously damaged it but aren't admitting it. Perhaps you owe them some compo for wasting their time?

There are a lot of 'obviouslies' in there. Can you prove they 'obviously' damaged it while testing it? Could it have suffered damage in transit when you sent it to them?

Test would be power on and scroll + test internet connection , plug in charger .That would not obviously break it .
Do you have any evidence that the phone was in good working order.

ive sold around 15 phones to CEX and never had it broken or damaged during testing. I've also sold many consoles and other electronics without issue.

I am not saying that means they cant physically be capable of mistakes, but the repeated use of the word obviously is not a solid argument.

how can you prove it was working on arrival?

Were any of them based on sending the phone to CEX? (Just to check ... if all your transactions were face-to-face in store then your experiences would not be the same as per the OP. If however all, or some, of the transactions were online and via post then your experiences would be a valid counter to the OP). :)
