Morning all
Thanks for the thread Holly and hugs to all those in need.
I catsat at Ds's yesterday from 4 'til 6, babysat at DD2 from 6:15 until 1am then returned to Ds's cats, slept there until 6 a.m. then returned to the boat by 7.
I did my washing a Ds's and showered there this morning.
No plans for today though I will go for a walk at some point.
Have a good day everyone.

Hello again, I've read the paper, had a shower and a friend has just called to ask if she can come over later, all good.
Gers, I have not rung them after a couple of friends told me about hanging on the phone for ages, if I hear nothing this week, I will. Dumpling, good to see you back here and HR haven't lost any originals, just copies but it is a PITA.
I am no further on with thoughts of what to cook. Last night OH made a sort of Mediterranean pork thing, which I wouldn't have been able to have even if I'd wanted it as it had a green pepper in it. He made me some bread crumbed haddock, one of the pieces I got YS last week, absolutely delicious and it cost 10p. It was quite a big bit too. The 10p does not include the cost of the breadcrumbs, must have added at least 1p. Or the salad or 4 raspberries but I still think I had a very nice meal for under 20p.
Had better stir my stumps.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning campers
.
We had a disturbed night as we were awoken by a woman/girl sobbing into her phone for her Mam to collect her. She couldn't be seen from our house but someone came with a car about 10 mins later. I have no idea who she was, but hope she is ok. Got up at 3am for a cuppa as neither of us could get back to sleep. We will be hanging by tonight.
It is a bit overcast this morning but still muggy. I believe that we are on the edge of the yellow warning for thunder storms, I hope we get some rain just to clear the air.
Mr Fix It has been washing the Devon dust off the car, it looked as though we had just finished the Dakar rally :rotfl:. He's now trying to fix the power washer as it wouldn't work and he had to wash the car with a bucket of soapy waterI have peeled some potatoes ready for roasting, for lunch. We shall have steak pie which I had in the freezer and frozen veg with gravy today. Dad isn't sure if he will come over, he will ring later if he's feeling too ill. We are all suffering with blocked noses and chesty coughs due to the heat and pollen.
Nelski I think I'm more a burnt toast colour, looks like I've been holidaying in the Med for 6mths. I hope your headaches have subsided now, even I had to sit in the shade on some days. Giving you a gentle virtual hug :A.
AOD hope you get your pension sorted soon, sometimes it feels like :wall:.
Csarina sending healing vibes for your poorly tummy.
Hester whoa ! Slow down, you put me to shame with your to-ing and fro-ing.
Dumpling sending you an extra hug too.
Holly thanks for the start off. Enjoy your non housework day :j
Apologies as there were a few more I wanted to reply to but I've got brain fog this morning. Mr Fix It says it's jet lag :rotfl::rotfl:.
Better shut up now that I've bored you all silly :rotfl:.
Hope everyone has a good Sunday, I have refilled the hug bucket so there will be plenty for all.

Hi everyone
Lovely and sunny here again today....I'm really enjoying this weather. Cut the grass and sat outside for ages yesterday. I'm planning to do the same again this afternoon but first I have some work to finish for work tomorrow....its easier to do it at home in the quiet.
I've really enjoyed having my electric bike to get up and own from work this week. It really is amazing to ride.
Eldest DD is still in Vietnam. She has a long overnight train journey today lasting 15 hours, then 4 hours on a bus then a boat to somewhere called Halong Bay. Vietnam looks lovely but it would be far too hot for me...at least 38 degrees every day. I'm dying to see her tan! She only has a few more days now....she starts travelling home on Thursday and gets back on Friday. She's really enjoyed it but says she's shattered now.
Well hope everyone has a good day0 -

AOT There is a very simple online form you can fill in to claim your pension. It must be very simple because because even I managed to do it!
The only thing that confused me to begin with is that it asks if you've ever lived abroad. If you have, but only as a member of, or spouse of a member of, the Armed Forces you're supposed to answer "No".
If you've lived abroad apart from that, they check in case you're entitled to any pension from your time abroad.

Unfortunately to claim online, you need a reference number which woukd normally be sent to you. I had a letter 6 years ago, I think this was before the DWP started issuing the reference numbers. So I'm meant to write to them and claim in a different way. They will deal with the deferred pension after the basic one. What I worry about is the fact that some people really need their pension urgently, how woukd they manage if they expect this to be a system that works smoothly? I should like to receive it but it is a good job that I can wait and they can just backdate it.Meanwhile we will be robbing Peter to pay Paul.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0

I've found that phoning any government agency first thing in the morning works well. Most folk wait until after 9.00a.m. I've got through to HMRC really easily on more than one occasion last month.
Two sets of bedlinen have been washed, dried and put back on the beds. A record for one day! I'm reading inbetween spraying weeds, deadheading genums and clearing up dead flies. They seem to stay on the window and fry themselves to death.
My new bluetooth speaker is working well after a slightly dodgy start, so I have gentle tones drifting around the back garden.0 -
I do apologise AOD, i'd forgotten about the "invitation code" they quoted in the letter they sent me
It all got a bit complicated because I also had to arrange to claim NI credits for 6 years when i was overseas as a military wife.
I hope you can manage to speak to them in the very near future - from what you say, i assume you had deferred your pension.0 -
AOD I also recommend the 8.03am phone call to any government department...HMRC are so much more available at that time of day!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
