There is one prize consisting of: a pair of return, economy flights (including one piece of checked luggage per person) available from major international airports in London only (flights will be indirect and not all routings will be available), plus return airport transfers;10 nights’ hotel accommodation (minimum 3-star). Kiwi conservation experience will take place in Auckland Zoo, Motutapu Island or Shakespear Open Sanctuary. Transfers will be provided by private car for Auckland Zoo or Shakespear Open Sanctuary, and by ferry for Motutapu Island; £1,000 spending money; travel insurance is subject to restrictions and the Terms & Conditions of the provider. The prize is strictly subject to availability, is based on travel between 1 November 2018 and 31 March 2019 and cannot be taken between 20 December 2018 and 5 January 2019 (Christmas and New Year). All elements of the prize must be taken at the same time. The winner will be the first entry selected at random after the closing date and will be contacted by 21 September 2018. There is one prize and the competition is open to readers of The Evening Standard and readers of its sister site The Independent. The prize is non-transferable and there is no cash alternative. The prize excludes UK transfers, meals and drinks, excursions, attractions, treatments, car hire, visas and personal expenses and anything not expressly included in the prize. Exact kiwi conservation excursion will vary according to seasonality and availability, but will be one of the following three options: a) a behind-the scenes visit to the kiwi incubation and hatching facility at Auckland Zoo, including return taxi transfers; b) a kiwi release on Motutapu Island, including return ferry transfers; c) a health check with a kiwi ranger at Shakespear Open Sanctuary.
