Shower acting up

Options
Evening all -
We have a redring shower installed in our bathroom - about 9 months old.
Has been working well until recently, randomly we go to use it and it turns on and can have a shower etc. Other times it just wont work - can hear motor in unit but no water. We end up leaving it until next day and away it goes.
This has been happening periodically.
Really odd !! - any ideas what we can do to rectify ??
Many thanks for any ideas / advice.

Did you buy the shower unit and pay someone to install it or did you pay someone to both supply and install it?

If the latter, contact that installer.
  • We had something similar and the plumber said it was an airlock. I'm not sure what he did to fix it, but I do recall he said that sometimes if you take the shower head off the rail (still attached to the hose) and drop it down as far as it will go, that can help.

have tried hanging it down and also totally unscrewing it - all to no avail, then we try shower a few hours later and off it goes.
Must be air in system but unsure how it sometimes stops and others goes no problem.

Post up a link to pics of the shower & how it's plumbed into your cylinder
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

A very random idea: try to run all the taps nearby for a few seconds? I myself seem to have an air-related problem with my bathtub tap: if I don't use it for a week, the shower and the sink tap start making weird noises. At that point, if I open the bathtub tap, it makes a clunk and then everything works again....
