DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINK... I don't think it's safe to. I have pasted it here only for you to see if I should be concerned.
I shut google chrome down and then this popped up. Should I be concerned and if so how do I get rid of it? I also had a recent.trending-shares.online pop up about 2 weeks ago but my broadband provider blocked it. I did a scan of my computer and it was all clear. I'm guessing it's not.

If you're sure your computer is clear of malware (malwarebytes?) check for rogue Chrome extensions.

Thank you. I have Windows Defender Browser extension, Google Docs Offline and Docs ( under Chrome Apps). Looks ok. Concerned that it popped up when I was closing Chrome.

Just completed a malware bytes scan and found no threats.
  • I think this is what popped up. I don't ever recall clicking on anything for it to pop up. The first time it appeared, I had just opened by browser and second time it appeared I closed my browser.

  • Avira scan complete. Found 2 PUA/Vbates - now know where that pop up advert came from. Quarantined and deleted. Malware Bytes didn't pick it up :( Is there anything else I should do?

Guess the question is why your real-time anti-virus didn't pick it up. What is your real-time anti-virus (assuming its not MWB or Avira) because it didn't do its job.
If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.

Always use ADW cleaner in tandem with malwarebytes

It is Avira and def on. I'm thinking of changing. Is Avast better?

Done that and it came back with nothing.

    Off to change passwords now.

For anti-virus I suggest (lots of views on this though!) Kaspersky free or Bitdefender free or Edge+Windows 10 Defender or Chrome+Defender Extension + Windows 10 Defender

Thanks, I'll try Kaspersky. I have done a scan with Spybot but I think there's false positives; all the threat levels are small and green.
