Hi everyone. Blackhorse have sent us a letter to say we had ppi on a finance agreement we took out in 2003 but they don't have the account number. Does anyone know how they can tell us we had ppi if they don't know our account number and have asked us for it. Confused on this. Thanks.

What prompted Blackhorse sending you the letter?

Who arranged the finance in 2003, did you go direct to Blackhorse or was it the dealer or retailer who arranged the finance for whatever you were buying.

We bought a caravan back then and I got the details from the caravan company. I wrote to Blackhorse to see if we had ppi and they came back and said yes.

It is the caravan company that sold the PPI and not Blackhorse.
As this was 2003 and before regulation, the caravan company will tell you that it was before regulation and they do not have to look at the complaint.
you will have to try and find who the insurer was, would Blackhorse know this?.
If they do then make a mis sell complaint to insurer.

Thank you for the information, I didn't realise I would have to make my complaint with the caravan company rather than Blackhorse.

The reason you would go the Caravan company to complain is because they are the ones who sold you the PPI policy and you are presumably alleging that it was miss sold.
