Is £1000 for a new composite door fitted about right or can it be done for cheaper?

It is like asking how much to buy a new car? With the car you would have a specificatuion which would be your requirements. With your door nobody on this Forum knows that Specification. Doors vary by a considerable amount throughout the country. What might be £800 in say Northumberland could be £1200 in London.
So if you are serious in asking your question then you need to give some clues first. Examples of these clues would be profile manufactirer and specific example, locking, hinges, glazing, security, Buildings Regulations Compliance, additional beyond Build Regs Compliance, guarantees, survey and fitting standards and so on.
On the other hand if you are only interested in price then there is always going to be something cheaper, somehow, somewhere.0 -
I got a quote for a new composite door recently - seemed decent spec - approx. £750-800 gutted. Up north tho.0

Doors range from £200 to £600+, then fitting.

Unfortunately, this is where standards have fallen to. I have raised valid observationsabove, and this link does everything possible to evade those observations.
If OP has any desire for a quality product they would avoid dealing with dross web suppliers.
However if quality, or anything else, does not matter then try any web site you wish. The decision will be based on price which is all some folks are concerned with.0
