Who Owns The Wall?

Options
At the bottom of our garden is the wall of my neighbors garage. Brick new build type.

The wall stretches the entire width of the bottom of the garden.

Would I need his permission to attach a trellis to the wall for roses to grow?...not sure technically if we or he own the wall?...

Inside his garage will be breeze block..ie on the other side of the brickwork from our garden.

It would be polite to ask if he minded whatever it is you intend to do.

If its a garage then its almost certainly its your neighbours wall. Does the roof overhang at all, is there a gutter?
Are you sure its blockwork inside, many garage walls are single skin brickwork.

It's almost certain this is the neighbour's wall, and if it's a new build they probably own the air space below and above whatever eaves it has.

It's sensible to assume you have no right to attach anything to the wall without permission, or grow plants up it, but growing plants in front of it would be OK, so long as they don't impede any maintenance the owner wishes to do.

You might look at the neighbour's title plan, downloadable from the Land Registry for £3
