One year on eBay

Some of you might remember that this time last year I had a thread challenging myself to achieve a £5k turnover by Christmas in my new eBay shop.
I didn't make it in the end, I managed around £3,500 between 9th October and 19th December when I admitted defeat.
But I kept on with the shop, tweaking it, expanding it, finding new suppliers and I'm very proud to say that this October I've managed £5k turnover in a month for the first time
I'm still working out of a cupboard in my bedroom (this is a 1-bed flat, I don't have a spare room), but I think the time has come to take the plunge and arrange some extra storage, because it's getting a little cramped in there and I want to start ordering from overseas where minimum order quantities are in the thousands rather than the hundreds.
So I'm off to the DIY store to buy a loft ladder and some attic flooring
For anyone thinking of starting an eBay business from home - go for it. It can be done successfully, even in the overcrowded marketplace eBay now is. The past year's been a lot of very hard work and there's even been the odd time when I've wished I was back at my desk in central London catching credit card fraudsters and knocking off at 5 every day, but on the whole I wouldn't change it for the world.
