Customs/Import Charges query on multiple packages

Hi folks,

There is a seller I frequently use on Amazon UK marketplace who dispatch their goods from the US, so I make sure my order inc postage always comes to less than £15 (they always total no more than £13 to be precise).

I made an order with them yesterday for £12.16 which has already been dispatched, but today I noticed they have reduced a couple of other items that I am keen to buy.

If I make another order and the second catches up with the first and they both go through Customs at the same time, do they get treated entirely separately or would they combine them what with them going to the same address and end up with me paying customs charges?

I suspect they treat them entirely separately, but wanted to be sure as I don't want to miss out on the price of the next items I want to buy, but if they do look at multiple items going through to the same address as combinable I'll actually end up paying way more in the end.

Thanks.

As I say, that's what I thought, but wanted to be sure to avoid any unexpected charges.
    Thanks.

    Thanks.

If they arrive at the same time and are cleared together you may be liable for the combined value charges (if there are any) as it is the date of import that is relevant, not the date of purchase or dispatch.

If you want to buy more and lessen the chance of additional charges you should wait until you've taken delivery to be absolutely certain.

Yeah, think I'll wait a few days at least.Hopefully the prices stay where they are.

I guess it is a long shot that the two parcels, out of all the ones they must get, will turn up in a way that they get paired up but then I don't know how the system works.

As I say I did wonder if it was worth it so will just leave it a few days at least.

Even if two packet were posted together it would be extraordinary if they turned up side by side for customs clearance and someone noticed to combine them.

Within the UK I sometimes send orders in two separate envelopes to keep them to large letter size and very often they are delivered on different days.

As above the chances of 2 parcels out of millions meeting would be astronomical.
