Running Sims 2 on Compaq V5000

Hi

Tried running Sims 2 on this machine however DDs complain that it is slower than the old machine that is no longer.

I did a Belark analysis on the V5000 and below I have posted the relevent specs against the requirements for Sims 2

Sims 2 Req
Processor 800mhz to 1.3ghz depending on pack
Memory 256 or 512mb depending on pack
Hard Drive total of around 10 to 12MB
Video Card 32MB T&L (non T&L Video Cards require a 2GHz processor)
Sound Card Direct X 9.0


V5000 Spec:
Processor 1.8Ghz AMD Turion 64
mMemory 512mb installed but Belarc says it has 384mb, despite recognising 2x 256mb cards being installed.
Hard drive 17.81gb free with all the games installed, so plenty of hd space there
Video Card ATI MOBILITY RADEON Xpress 200 Series [Display adapter]
Sound Card Can't find reference to it. It seems to be coping with the sound OK though.

Looks like your Graphics card is using system memory and is taking 128Mb.

So you haven't got a lot of RAM and the Graphics Card may not be the best.

It claims to test if your PC will run a game, I've never tried it mind you.
