BBCThe right of council housing tenants in Scotland to buy new-build homes is to end, BBC Scotland understands.
Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon is also expected to tell MSPs that a new generation of council houses will tackle Scotland's housing crisis.
A number of local authorities have already been given permission to suspend right to buy amid shortages
Q1) What impact will this have one the Scottish Market? [10]
Q2) Do you think England, Wales & NI will do the same?
State your reasons why. [6]
Further discussion [4]
"Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.
Mrs. Pench took the money. "What will you do with it all? Not that it's any of my business," he giggled.
"I think I'll become an alcoholic," said Betty.

A1) Not for quite a number of years. It will just mean that people in council houses will but much less in a position to buy, meaning they will end up renting for longer or indeed for the rest of their lives.
It will only make a big difference if the councils start buying / developing / upgrading houses to be used for council house rent.
I know in some areas there are plenty of houses which could be salvaged for council house purposes
A2) As always, Scotland will be the guinea pig or as I like to say lead the way. If it works then the sheep will follow:wall:

Hmmmm just re-read your quote and am wondering what they mean by "new-build homes"
Does this mean they will still sell old properties and try to build up a new council house portfolio?:wall:
