My Ceanothus (Californian Lilac) is being eaten by something! I have googled it but only to read that Ceanothus has few pest problems!! I wonder if it has anything to do with this very hot weather? I am in Cheshire - anyone else having a problem?

Yes, flowered really well but flowers gone now. It is the leaves being eaten!
  • Can you post a picture? I imagine the leaves are like cardboard to a pest! There is a chance of some sort of leaf spot fungus, where the affected part of the leaf drops out giving the impression of being eaten by a pest, a bit like shothole on laurels.
