These people should get what they deserve, remarket and don't entertain any further offers from them

Yes however OP doesn't want to cut of their nose to lose their own house purchase. We don't actually know what the price reduction request it, £1k is vastly different to £10k

If they are on holiday for 2 weeks they probably wouldn't notice if it was back on the market

See, I don't agree here - they may have had their holiday booked for months/a year - we have a 1 week holiday booked for the middle of August (in the UK) - it was booked a year ago - we fully expected to be in our house by now, but we aren't. We shall be fully contactable by phone if we still haven't exchanged by then. But taking a holiday doesn't necessarily mean you aren't interested in the house.

  • Hi thank you for your help and replies.

No idea what price reduction they want and tbh they already have the house at a good price already.

They haven!!!8217;t signed contracts before going away as they also wanted to know if we were leaving the cooker (confirmed on information form it was going..sigh!)...I!!!8217;m just annoyed it!!!8217;s happened at this stage!

I!!!8217;m glad I!!!8217;ve posted, you!!!8217;ve reassured me that I am not being harsh here.

    Onwards and upwards...

Show them as much consideration as they are showing you.

I guess they've been spooked by the roof query and want to get someone in to quote for the job.

It could be that their solicitor has sat on all the paperwork in the old fashioned way some still work at, then they have a sit down meeting where they go through all the paperwork and all being well, sign contracts ready for exchange.

Agree holiday could have been booked months ago but it's a bit of a bummer to clear off leaving it hanging in the air like this.

Get the agent to get a few viewers in while they're away and see if anything comes of these, then when the original buyers come back you'll have a good idea whether you should stick with them or not.

And obviously don`t care either, they know they hold all the cards, if the OP`s market is that hot why even bother to post on here for advice?
  • Pfftt - ridiculous! Tell them to go take a hike and newbuilds are that way
