which agent to buy through?

Hi all

I saw a freehold house recently, on with two agents...call them A) and B). When I called A) they said it was under offer through agent B) and so they couldn't get a viewing from the vendor. I called B) and they confirmed they had a buyer and no more viewings as exchange was imminent.

However 3-4 weeks later the buyer seems to be stalling, so both agents have been in touch to see if I'm still interested. However A) is pushing harder and has booked a viewing for me, while B) said they would come back to me but have not.

Who should I deal with? I don't want to create issues for the vendor in terms of commission - if it's actually still available that is, all very murky!

    Deal with the first, as they seem to be more proactive than the second - the issue with commission is not your concern really.

    It sounds like you called A first so they would likely claim their fee as introducers regardless of who you respond to now.

    Make sure you tell B you were 1st introduced to the property by A and will be dealing with A from now on.

    I would try and get a price discount if possible as well, no harm in trying
