    Dear diary and all,

Party went off really well. We had about 25 people with some to celebrate our wedding anniversary and then several of DSs friends to welcome him home. It was really nice to have everyone over and a few stayed including a couple of his friends camping in the garden. A few of his musician friends brought guitars and there was a bit of a sing song around the piano which was really nice. Just about getting on top of clearing up the aftermath today.

    Thanks @AgathaSquirrel !

It has been a bit of a car week. Whilst driving the older one to the airport to collect DS, a couple of warning lights came on. They disappeared after I restarted the car for the return journey. I took it to the garage and they have diagnosed a failed rear ABS sensor which needed replacing along with another part that has corroded. Total bill £486. Ouch, but still I am ok with it, it is the cost of keeping an older vehicle on the road. The newer one went in for its MOT today and passed without any advisories which was nice.

One more week to go. Next Friday will be my last day after which I will be on leave and not going back. Just tying up the final loose ends before I go. To be honest, can’t wait for the final logging out and not having to think about it all any more😊!

    Dear diary and all,

The day has arrived! Today was my last working day. I am on holiday now until the end of August when I officially retire. The eternal out of office has been set.

OH and I are now planning our first holiday in September where we will join DS in Asia for part of his travels. Flights booked today.

Doesn't quite feel real yet since its no different from being on holiday but already I can feel the weight lifting.
