Ask any of the regular posters on the DFW forum, how they ended up in the cycle of debt they are now in, and most will tell you a similar story, consolidation is regarded as just another step in the dance before insolvency comes calling, when you can no longer balance transfer, you start looking at consolidating, but that can double what you owe.


If your current borrowing is getting to the point of becoming unaffordable, you should not look to increase that debt, you should take debt management advice, if people did that earlier on in the process, they may not end up insolvent, there are debt charities and advice lines out there that can advise how to deal better with your current debts, the advice is freely available, please take it, do not consolidate.
