Hi All

M&S have reduced the price of their 15" LCD TV from £229 to £199; a further £30 promotion is applied when you go through to the checkout page bringing it down to £169.

Hopefully this is the link:
http://www.marksandspencer.com/gp/product/B000RF51MA. (First time of posting in this forum so apologies if it doesn't work; just check M&S site -technology dept - it's the first TV shown)

It's got integrated Freeview, a DVD player and a 5 year guarantee; available in black or pink.

And don't forget Quidco for 5% cashback.

Hope that helps someone!

Do I need to have this plugged into an outdoor aerial for the freeview? (please excuse my thickness)

Yes you will need a outside aerial to recive a Freeview signal

Looks like a good offer but is the TV any good. I have found only an extra £5 off code on another thread rather than the £5 that is mentioned. All other codes don't seem to work.

Also checked that if you open on receipt you can't return unless faulty so make sure you definitely want it.

It may work with a indoor aerial but it would depend on how far you are from the transmitter and if there any any obstructions blocking the signal like walls, trees etc they do make a difference.

Also some channels may not be picked up with a indoor aerial.

I am about 3/4 mile from the transmitter its on the next hill from me you can see if from our bedroom window. I am also on a hill, yet when I used 2 different indoor aerials in the front room which is nearest to the transmitter the signal is poor and is even worse in back bedroom.

Digital tv is a hit n miss it either works good or works poorly. Better to use a outdoor aerial where ever possible, thats what we did get each bedroom its own tv point to the aerial on the chimney

  • Freeview reception is entirely dependent on the signal coverage in your area, where you place your aerial, what aerial you use and the quality of the tuner in the receiver.

Put it this way, in my parents' house you could almost get away with just sticking your finger in the aerial socket of the box to get rock solid reception. But that would only be upstairs and at the front of the house. Move a few metres to the rear of the house and an indoor aerial will only just about work. Downstairs you won't get any reception at all.

We used 2 different amplified aerials we got from Argos and also tuners we have are all Humax which are renowned for having good/sensitive tuners
